After our new build was completed, the team came in and created systems throughout our home that have made each area so much easier to manage. They zoned out my kitchen, pantry, closets, bedrooms and bathrooms, making sure each space could grow as our family does. I have 3 tiny snackers in my house, so there was lots to organize. Smita came in and helped me part with old items I never use. She took all the donations and all the trash away for me. My husband and I were able to repaint everything, and she came in and beautifully organized it with new bins and easy to read labels. My first project with Smita and The Thoughtful Home was organizing my basement storage area. When I called her, it was basically a dumping ground hosting everything from delivery boxes to extra snacks to excess house supplies, an old microwave, suitcases, the list goes on. Smita completely transformed the space. Within about a day it went from a disaster that I was embarrassed to look at to a beautifully merchandised and organized space that I am still proud to show off a couple of years later. That is also a testament to her systems - she worked very closely with me to decide how we would best use the space and created a functional system that is so easy to follow that it still looks just as pretty as the day she set it up! The best part was she helped us purge so many things we realized we didn’t need, taking care of all of the work. She was so kind and patient with me, not pushy at all, but had so many great suggestions and knew when to push a bit harder and when to leave something alone (which I usually came around to after a few minutes of thought - she was right about everything she suggested I get rid of!) After the huge success with the basement, we then had her transform our playroom. This is a space that is very visible in the house and it was a mess! Smita helped us design the space in a functional, practical, and beautiful way, sourcing furniture that fit our budget and our aesthetic, and overall created this incredible space that serves as a playroom, craft room, and hangout space because it’s just so pretty we can’t help but hang out in it now! I can’t wait for Smita to come back and transform the rest of my house! Her organizing abilities, attention to detail, eye for space and design, and incredible personality all make her the perfect person for the job!!
